Yo! Today is January 14. And guess what day that is? Sakuno’s birthday.
 Eh? Really?
Okies, so you’re all thinking that Cin must
be this hardcore fan to even remember the birthday of a made up anime/manga
character, but it just so happens to coincide on the anniversary of a fic I
wrote.
Er… a fic
I wrote about said character’s birthday.
Okay, so yah. I am a hardcore fan. *lol*
Minna who
would like to read the fic can go here. It’s
a one shot, but it’s a sequel to another fic of mine. I find that I like RyoSaku friendship fics a
lot. I mean, I am all for romance, but a
lot of writers these days just can’t get it right. You can’t just muscle Ryoma and Sakuno together. You gotta make it gradual. Believable.
You need to build up the foundation, yanno? When you skip all that, it just really takes
away from the satisfaction level your readers would otherwise have had.
(The
following is slightly ranty and mean.
Highlight if you wanna read):
I was
trying to read some RyoSaku fics last night, and I just couldn’t make myself
read more than a handful of the more recently posted stories. Though I crave RyoSaku fics, I am not so desperate
to read shoddy, out of character fics written by fans w/ an ephemeral grasp of
grammar. I still have standards, folks.
There was
a fic that was almost good, but missed the mark right at the end. I was contemplating reviewing it, but an anonymous
reviewer beat me to it, and pretty much said the same things I was gonna say
(though that reviewer was meaner about it).
Eh, thinking about it now, I think I will review it. *nods*
I know that if I wrote a fic, I would want constructive criticism too.
Funny thing,
there was another review that lauded the fic.
About the wide disparity… it takes all kinds, I guess.
Anyways, I’ve
been working on the sequel to January 14 off and on for a year now. I have a vague sense of how I want it to go
and how I want it to end, but I just don’t feel the inspiration to actually write it. I do know the title though. February 14.
Fitting, ne?
February 14 premise: RyoSaku are now friends. Good friends. But is Sakuno willing to sacrifice their
friendship for something more? Valentine’s
Day is rolling around, and Sakuno is vacillating on whether or not she should
let Ryoma know her true feelings.
Dunno if I’ll
have the fic ready by V-day, but here’s hoping.
If you guys have any suggestions for the fic, fire away! Because I’m stumped, and if I don’t come up
with something good, this fic is gonna gather dust until the next V-day rolls
around. Again. *lol* |
